Secrecy Over Election Date Worries Milupi
The Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) says the secrecy surrounding the date of elections is disadvantaging other political players who may want to plan for their participation in this yeas 2011 polls.
ADD leader Charles Milupi told QFM news that the MMD is trying to use the date of elections to catch other political parties unaware.
Mr. Milupi adds that the delay in announcing the election date has caused a lot of uncertainty about this years 2011 electoral process.
He notes that this will also disadvantage the electorate who may wish to participate in the polls by voting because those that may need to make travel arrangements during the time of elections may not have sufficient time to organize resources.
There are increasing calls for the President to announce the date of elections so that the political parties participating in this years 2011 polls are given enough time to campaign and sell their manifestos to the electorates.
