Kabimba: Advisors Have Embarrassed RB On Maamba Houses Sale

Wynter Kabimba says President Rupiah Banda has been embarrassed by his own advisors on the Maamba Colliery houses sale issue. Kabimba in an interview said it was becoming difficult for anyone to trust President Banda’s pronouncements since he himself did not know what went on in his government.

“Does he really understand what’s going on in his government for him to make such pronouncements without first getting some background information?  And in any case, why should a president run this country based on guesswork?” he asked.

Kabimba said what was happening were signs of the worst yet to come.

“Why should those paid to advise the president cause him such embarrassment? And he himself, does he really think he can win an election based on those pronouncements? It’s a pity that he is falling on the same trap that Chiluba fell into.  Let him leave those consultancy handouts Chiluba left him with.  You cant go out on a platform in Maamba and say you are selling houses that have already been” said Kabimba.

He said Maamba collieries houses were sold along with other mine houses in several parts of the country during late president Frederick Chiluba’s tenure.
