Patrick Responds To Aunties Criticism

Patrick Mwanawasa says he is an adult who can exercise his free will to participate in politics and would like his family members to respect his decisions.

Patrick said he was a young man and, like all human being, was bound to make mistakes.

His remarks come in the wake of criticism from his aunt Evelyn Mwanawasa, who described his earlier comment on President Rupiah Banda as childish, desperate and influenced by disgruntled politicians using him to gain political mileage.

“I have got tremendous respect for my aunt.  I cannot wish her anything bad at all.  I would just like to say that for her to say what she said in the national media is very unfortunate.” Patrick said.

“But what I would like from my family members is that they should respect my decisions. I am 28 years old now, same age as Thandiwe Banda; may be within the same age anyway, with the president’s wife Thandiwe Banda.”

Patrick said he did not believe his comments on President Banda were equal to insults, saying he was a young man who was learning to climb the political ladder.

“Mr.[ Ephraim] Mateyo, I respect him and he served the police service very well.  I would implore him to it like that.  He did his part in serving mother Zambia.” He said

Patrick said he took great exception to people that where saying ‘all sorts of things’ in the public media

  1. Mulekeni umwaice, ala alesambilila. You elderly politicians i think you are reaping what you have sown. You have been thriving on politics of insults and character assassination, and you forget that what you do is actually a bad example you lay down for the the young politicians to follow. Instead of condemning Patrick why dont you be ashamed of yourselves? umwaice lyonse amona nokucita ifyo abakalamba balecita, period. You are the ones to blame.

  4. BA LEVYI. THE BIBLE SAYS THERE IS ALWAY A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT TO A MAN BUT IT'S END IS THE WAY OF DISTRACTION. (PROVERBS 23:25) LEVYI YOU ARE VERY YOUNG WITH A BRIGHT FUTURE BECAUSE YOUR FATHERS NAME BUT NOW YOU ARE DEGING YOUR OWN SHAOL IN YOUR POLITCAL CAREER AND YOU ARE KILLING YOUR FATHER'S NAME BY REANING THAT KIND OF POLITICS SO CALLED CHARETAR ASSISTION. REMEMBER; IT IS EASY TO BE WISE AFTER THE EVENT.

  5. Patrick you need to take things easy, patience pays they say.your desperation for a job in government will just ruin your political career.do not assassinate RB's character jus because you want to impress the king of cobras.don't fool yourself Mr.Patrick, the cobra is not interested in seeing you succeed in politics jus like he wasn't interested to see your father's success when he was alive.I strongly believe you want to take it from where your where your father left.but you must take your time,do your home work and watch the elders do their thing.this will give you the excellence you need to run a nation.
