Kitwe Mayor Elias Kamanga said no amount of intimidation will stop him from carrying out his mayoral duties.
And Councilor Kamanga has expressed interest to contest the Kamfinsa parliamentary seat on the Patriotic Front ticket.
Councilor Kamanga has also accused MMD Copperbelt Task force chairman Joe Malanji of frustrating the efforts of the office of the mayor.
Speaking at a media briefing held at Ndeke Community hall Monday morning, Councilor Kamanga wondered in what capacity Mr. Malanji was being involved in council issues.
He notes that by him being summoned by Riverside Police stations on theft allegations simply confirms that the police are a wing of the MMD.
Councilor Kamanga also accused the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation ZNBC of being a mouth piece for the MMD.
MMD task force chairperson Joe Malanji last week revealed that he had reported councilor Kamanga to Riverside Police Station for allegedly re-fuelling Patrick Mwanawasas vehicle with 73.4 liters of petrol worth K635, 000 on a council account and also to the Anti Corruption Commission for illegal land allocations.
Meanwhile, Councilor Kamanga has called on the Ministry of Local Government and housing to allow auditors to audit the Kitwe City council.
He explains that no councilor has a right to give land to an individual as the process is done with full approval of the city council.
