stop sowing hate seeds in Westyern Provice, PF told STOP interfering and sowing hate seeds of discontent and division in Western Province over the Barotse Agreement of 1964, Alliance for Development and Democracy (ADD) president Charles Milupi has said. In an interview Mr. Milupi said it was sad that the political leadership of the nation was seen to be in the forefront issuing hate statements and creating discontent in the province.

He said government should therefore stop interfering and issuing hate statements that would create divisions among the people. “They should stop interfering and it is not just this government, it is governments going back. Stop sowing seeds of discontent, hate and stop dividing people. Stop encouraging division in the nation by these careless talks about the Barotse issue,” said Milupi.

He said the Machiavelli kind of politics which were now at play in the nation were aimed at destroying other competitors based on other unorthodox methods and beliefs. Mr. Milupi said the desire to create division among people as means of ruling them was the actual event at play by politicians.

The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) through the Barotse National Council (BNC) has accused the PF government of not showing commitment towards the restoration of the 1964 agreement and has since demanded for succession from the rest of the nation. The BRE and BNC have also accused the Nkoyas of being used by the Patriotic Front (PF) government in dividing the province.
The Nkoyas have objected to the succession of the region saying they were not consulted while the Lozis have indicated that the position was a collective and consultative one.
