MMD's William Banda downplays Mangani's resignation
Mr Banda says Mr Mangani's resignation will not affect the strength of the ruling party.
Speaking in an interview with QFM in Lusaka, Mr. Banda says the MMD will remain stronger and the favorite to win this year's elections.
Mr. Banda has however described Mr. Mangani's resignation as unfortunate stressing that it has come as a surprise.
And Mr. Banda has warned party cadres in the province against engaging in any violent conduct in the run-up to the tripartite elections.
He explains that the provincial leadership will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against any member found wanting.
He says it is unfortunate that the ruling party has been accused of perpetrating violence in the recent past by political stakeholders despite his executive condemning the vice.
Mr. Banda has further urged other political parties to take a similar stance taken by the MMD provincial leadership to ensure that the forthcoming general elections are violence free.
