Mpulungu Patients Abandon Health Centre for Jobs

Some patients from Mpulungu Rural Health Centre in Northern Province have abandoned medication and join other women in search for casual jobs at Great lakes products-GLP.

Some female wards at the rural health centre were found with only a few patients who were critically ill while the majority had gone to GLP for casual jobs which were being offered this morning.

Acting District Commissioner Monday Chapewa confirmed the development saying that the women at the health centre shunned medication after the information went around that, government had resumed the exercise.

Some talked to Women hailed GLP proprietor Salim Sahar.

One of the women Melody Nambaya of Muzabwela area expressed happiness on the police officers manning the gate.

Nambaya praised the security personnel for their professional conduct exhibited.

9 people, including a baby were crushed to death, while six others sustained serious injuries during a stampede at GLP.

Over 5, 000 people converged at GLP after word went round that the proprietor Sahran Salim was in town to employ casual workers
